Watch sea turtles swim & crashing waves!
We've vacationed at Poipu Shores in four different condos and 202B is the BEST.
A long lanai affords breath-taking views of waves crashing onto the black lava shoreline and magnificent sea turtles swimming in the deepwater cove below. Stunning sunsets are commonplace. Rainbows over the ocean are spetacular. The condo is spacious, comfortable and well appointed with amenities for a week-long (or longer) visit.

Couldn't be more pleased, do yourself a favor and stay at Tarek's condos
We had a simply extraordinary time staying in this condo. The accommodations are perfect and Tarek is a wonderful host. We also stayed at his place at Pua Poa in Princeville first 1/2 of our visit. I am glad we decide to split our vacation in 1/2 between the north and south and Tarek was very generous with the arrangements. I would not even think about staying anywhere else or renting from anyone else on Kauai. We will be back!

Great Vacation
My fiance and I (and another couple) visited Hawaii to attend/participate in a wedding and we stayed 3 nights at Tarek's condo and 2 nights at another accommodation. We all agreed our favorite Kauai moment was staying at the condo and enjoying the view from the lanai. What a beautiful view! Words cannot describe it. We enjoyed coming to the condo after day's excursion and sitting out in lanai, enjoying a glass of wine, and listening to the waves crashing against rocks right below our lanai...wow, it was a dream! We saw sea turtles surfing the waves every day. We really appreciated all the beach gear stocked in the condo such as snorkel gear, beach umbrella, chairs, beach blankets, boogie board, etc. Thank you, Tarek, for letting us rent your condo and we will be back for sure one winter to watch the whales!

Perfect Location

Tarek has provided the 5 star version of Customer Service. What a personable, genuine, helpful host. His condo was as described and you could not improve on the location, view, and quiet surroundings. Easy walk to the beaches and fabulous view of the turtle family of 5 riding the waves daily off the lanai.Comfortable 2 bedroom condo, tastefully decorated, with easy access to well kept community gas grill only a few steps from the condo. We definately plan to return!

Wonderful

My husband and I enjoyed a week in Tarek's wonderful condominium. The view is absolutely breathtaking... nothing but ocean, waves and turtles. The best view of the sunset on the entire island might just be from the lanai of this condo. We hope to be back soon!

We Hope to Return

We have stayed at a number of places on 5 different Hawaiian Islands and this is our favorite spot. The view and proximity to the ocean are remarkable. The condo has been renovated since we stayed here in 2005. The large lanai and two bedrooms with oceanfront views are special. We saw turtles, dolphins, and whales during our visit in early December, all from the lanai. Short walking distance from great beaches for swimming, sunning, snorkeling and body surfing. We hope to return again to stay here.

The Sun Always Shines on Poipu
Thanks for the use of your Poipu Shores Condo, March 15 - 22, 2010. We had a great week. The sun might not have shone everywhere on the island, but it sure did at Poipu. We have tan lines to prove it We enjoyed going to the local farmers markets to buy fruit. We made smoothies every day with the blender you provided, laid by the pool and read, and watched the whales and turtles every day. We were so glad we had brought binoculers. We will recommend your condo to others. We highly recommend your future guests try Cafe Coco in Wailua for the Ahi Nori Wrap (YUM), and the Mahi Mahi at Tom Kats Grille in Koloa. Great food for reasonable prices. Thanks again. Sue Crotty

Stunning Sunsets
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Poupu Shores. Each night we were awed by the beautiful sunsets. We loved spending mornings on the lanai, watching the turtles and having the waves crash below us. Poipu is the perfect location for exploring the south side of the island. Snorkeling is nearby and there is equipment available in the unit for guests to use. We found Tarek, the owner, to be wonderful to work with. One of the best hikes we took was the Maha'ulepu Trail, beginning in Poipu. The pool at Poipu Shores is located almost in the ocean and the grounds are well-maintained. The unit was quite comfortable. We can't wait to return!

Excellent Location and Amenities
We had a really fabulous stay in this condo. The effusive description by the owner is no exaggeration. There are a lot of vacation rentals in Poipu but many are either far from the ocean or they have a road or crowds of people between you and the sea. This property could not be better located and this particular condo is among the nicest in the complex. The unobstructed view is priceless. You could just sit on the lanai or beside the pool all day and watch the turtles, humpback whales and waves. But the condo is well located to easily access world class beaches nearby, the Waimea canyon, waterfalls etc., etc.
We also appreciated how attentive and helpful Tarek, the owner, was at the time of our initial enquiry and during our stay. He was always very responsive and flexible and we felt this personal attention made for a better experience than you could expect from a resort chain.
p.s. We actually split our time on Kauai between Poipu Shores and an equally wonderful vacation apartment on Kauai's north shore (http://www.vrbo.com/211642). Check that one out too. It also is right on the ocean, you can hear the waves and there is a beautiful beach that you can walk to in minutes. It is also a larger space and higher up with awesome views of the Na Pali coast. Amazing surfing and snorkeling nearby.

The Aloha of Hawaii
The minute you drive into the complex you know you are in for a treat. The gorgeous tropical gardens and landscape, the sounds of the crashing waves … and then you open the door of Tarek’s condo wondering what awaits you.
Wow!! What a special place! Simply paradise, in an ideal location, this place needs to be seen to be believed. Beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home plus the feeling of being away from it all. Great accommodations with 2 large and very comfortable & stylish queen bedrooms, stunning granite kitchen with everything you could need, and then you walk out onto the HUGE lanai. The view is amazing and literally took our breath away. We loved watching the abundant turtles catching the waves right below us while having our morning coffee and again in the late afternoon with a glass of wine and dinner prepared from the barbeque. Swimming in the pool below us with the waves crashing against the rocks around us was fantastic. Although we toured the island and did many things during our stay we looked forward to returning to our little piece of heaven at the end of every day.
This place is beautiful inside and out and your generosity Tarek was heartfelt.. you made us feel the Aloha of Hawaii. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful condo.
The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave.

Most Wonderful Vacation on the Garden Island
From the moment, I contacted the owner (Tarek) for availability of his condo during a planned vacation with my brother in late October 2011, I got a response from Tarek that made me feel right at home. Tarek provided details and responses to all of our inquiries and was very professional yet warm and welcoming. He provided meticulous details of what to find/expect and when we arrived at the condo we were simply blown away. The condo to us felt like a home away from home. It had all amenities that you could wish/hope for in a place like this. It provided beach & snorkling gear, had a fully equipmed kitchen, free internet access and plenty of space for the two of us. Every morning, we would have breakfast on the lanai and watch the sunrises. Sunsets (most spectacular) we would watch whenever we weren't on hiking trips or other adventures. The condo is conveniently located with fast and easy access to Waimea Canyon, Kalalau Valley and Na Pali Coast hiking trips (if you like to hike, which I would greatly recommend). On our first day we watched sea turtles pop their little heads in and out of the waves right below our lanai. Although, there was another deck below us that extended a bit further, it did not obstruct any of our views and everything is very private and quiet. All you hear at night (and that to us was the most soothing sound) is the sound of crashing waves. Overall, our experience was incredible and I would come back to Tarek's condo at any time. Matter of fact, I am already thinking of another quick trip in the next 6-12 months and I am hoping that Tarek's condo will be available at that time. For me this was the 3rd trip (for Chris it was the 2nd) to the Garden Island and it was by far the best we have had. It's been over a decade since we had been experiencing the beauty of Kauai and we both are sure that we won't let another decade pass before coming back. Thank you for making us feel at home, Tarek!

Wonderful Oceanfront Condo
Julie and I have been to Kauai 10 or 15 times and we have stayed at a number of condos up and down the street where this condo is located. This was our first time at Tarek's condo andit wll not be the last. Rather than repeat much of the glowing description that Tanja provided (and with which I agree wholeheartedly), I will just add a couple of thoughts. Last year, I booked this condo for 2 weeks in February 2011. At the last minute, I was taken seriously ill and our son and daughter-in-law used the condo in our stead. Tarek was very helpful in that booking. His condo was not available for a part of the desired rental period and so Tarek worked out a deal with the owner of another condo in Poipu to fill in the unavailable dates. It worked out beautifully and our adult children had a wonderful time They were so effusive about Tarek's condo that I booked it again for a vacation for Julie and I in December 2011. The condo, as has been described by Tarek and others, is modern and nicely furnished. As someone who rents vacation properties often and cooks in the unit, I was particularly impressed with the fact that even the pots/pans and other cooking and eating utinsels are first rate. Just like home! Another advantage of this condo is that there are no flights of stairs to climb getting from the car to the condo. Parking is almost at the front door. Lastly, we have never had an oceanfront condo where every room faces the ocean with access to a generous sized oceanfront patio. No one has to have the "bedroom down the hall away from the water". The unit is in an upscale, quiet complex that is very nice Tarek is wonderful to deal with, a real gentleman. We are very hopeful that we will be able to return soon.

AWESOME!
We have visited Kauai several times and always stayed in the beautiful Princeville area. Although the north side is lush and beautiful we found that we traveled sometimes on a daily basis to the south shore seeking and usually finding better weather. This was our first attempt to stay on the south shore and we were amply rewarded! A truly beautiful condo with stunning views, and the weather? Nearly perfect! The lanai offers excellent whale watching in March, (we saw many and even a few spinner dolphins) and just below several turtles can be seen munching on the vegetation just below the surface of the water. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast everyday out on the lanai while enjoying these views. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below took a little getting used to, but after a couple of days we came to enjoy it! It should be noted that this unit does not have aC but has plenty of ceiling fans. This did not present a problem for us as it was quite comfortable. Although we did not get the opportunity to meet Tarek in person, he promptly responded to any e- mail questions or concerns we had as we were preparing for our vacation. We especially appreciate that the pictures and views shown on line are exactly what you get with this property. We plan to visit again!

Best Vacation Ever!!
This was the ultimate vacation for us...magnificent hospitality, check-in was a breeze and the property was exactly as advertised. You can't get closer to the water than this! The sound of the waves crashing beneath the lanai, the private pool area and the solitude makes this a vacationer's dream. If you want the relaxed, do-it-yourself Hawaiian experience, this is the place!!

If the ocean is why you came to Kauai, stay here!
When I travel I usually stay at a Wyndham timeshare or trade through RCI. I want to spend my time indoors in spacious, well kept surroundings, not a hotel room. Tarek's property was as well appointed as anywhere I have stayed from San Francisco to Sedona to the Emerald Coast of Florida. The attentional to detail in the furnishings to all the amentities he provides even down to the snorkling gear is first rate. The view from the lanai is as good as it gets. If I did nothing put sit there and watch the sea turtles or the waves crashing, my trip to Kauai would have been worth it. The location on the south shore is unbeatable. Waimai Canyon, the best beaches in america, National Tropical Gardens, great restaurants and great dining are all just minutes away. The weather on the south shore is what a beach vacation should be, sunshine and blue skies every day. I'm in the tourism business and am always on the lookout for great destinations and places to stay. This is it!

Ocean Beauty
This was a great condo, true to all the pictures/descriptions shown on this site! It really is that close to the Ocean! The condo complex was very nice and well maintained, with a nice, uncrowded pool. What we enjoyed most was sitting on the Lanai, in the morning with our tea and at evening eating the dinner we prepared at the condo (on the Weber grill at the complex), watching the waves roll in and our Honu (turtle) friends. We were even lucky enough one morning to see a school/pod? of dolphin swimming by and jumping in and out of the water. Tarek was extremely accommodating and responsive, a true pleasure to deal with.
