| I booked La Josephine for a family vacation for 13 and we filled each bedroom. Overall, the rental was fantastic and provided everyone with their own space and was perfectly comfortable when we all came together.
Location – Excellent location. You'll want a car if you'd like to get around at your convenience, but we couldn't have asked for a better a neighborhood. The house felt safe, comfortable and quiet and is a short walk from the La Samana Hotel. The property is gated and a password is required to open a gate to the neighborhood, as well as a gate to the villa.
Check-in – We were met at the airport by a cab driver designated by the rental company. He wasn't the friendliest, but were later met by someone at the house from the management company. He was very nice and answered all questions and walked through each room of the house.
Management was very responsive. After settling in we identified an issue in the bathroom, and they sent someone to repair it very quickly. There was another issue with one of the rooms that prevented anyone from sleeping in it, which was pretty disappointing, but was fixed within 2 days.
A housekeeper lives on the property and she was available almost daily to make up the rooms and provide clean linens.
The open floor plan was fantastic. The rooms were very comfortable and each had an attached bath, a huge plus for a group of our size. Overall the house was clean, but could benefit from a deep cleaning (walls and furniture). AC and Wi-Fi is also throughout the villa.
The kitchen has two refrigerators, another plus for a large group.
There is one small safe in one of the bedrooms. A second safe elsewhere would be a great addition.
The patio was exceptional and had a table big enough for the entire group. There was also seating areas grouped together around the pool giving everyone as much or as little space as they needed.
The pool was awesome. It was the perfect size and a great decorative fixture. The bulbs in the pool were out when we arrived, so someone came a couple days later to replace them and clean out the pool.
Overall the size of the house met our needs perfectly. There were a few maintenance issues that should have been noted and taken care of before we arrived, but the management company was very responsive when we reported them.
I would definitely book this villa again. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Josephine.
