Happy Thanksgiving

We stayed here during our "destination" Thanksgiving and everything turned out perfectly. The house , the deck and the grounds were clean and neat. The kitchen is well furnished in terms of dishes. The home is warm and cozy and there are plenty of extra blankets. Despite being late fall we spent a lot of time in the hot tub, or cuddled in blankets drinking coffee on the deck. We took a very short drive to Nantahala Nat forest area and went hiking as well. There is a chiminea as well for your use. We had a glitch with the wi-fi, but sent a text and the owner was on it, and had the solution in no time. However we are hoping to stay again early summer. This was well worth the $$ and the drive.

Long Weekend on Fontana

The wife and I did a three day weekend on Fontana, and found the lake house to be very nice. It was so clean we were afraid to go inside, but once we got past that, we found a well furnished and adequately stocked home in a fantastic location! We rented a small boat to fish from and enjoyed that, but found that simply fishing from the dock provided great action as well. We would recommend this house, but a week later would have been better for enjoying the color in the trees that had not quite reached it's peak.

Great House in a Great Location

George was excellent to work and we loved our time at his home. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. Deck is awesome and was used extensively for reading, photography, dining, sunbathing and just listening to nature in all it’s glory. The location is perfect for those who want to get away from it all, but within quick road trip for those who want to experience all the area has to offer. Having direct access to the lake was great and we definitely took advantage of having Prince Boat Dock right there renting a pontoon boat for a couple of days. The lake is clean, tubing was fun, the Dam was fun to enjoy from both sides - just wish fishing was a little more productive for us but hey… Thanks so much for opening your home - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great Lake Fontana vacation

We spent 10 days with our baby and dogs. We loved the area, and we loved the lake. The house was clean, comfortable, and the view from the deck was spectacular. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina around the corner and used it for tubing, fishing and a trip to the Dam. The boathouses on the lake add eclectic local flavor. Most of the lake is unspoiled, however, due to the fact it is surrounded by forest service lands.
The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and utensils for cooking. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The deck is perfect for cocktails and dining "al fresco." The dock was a short golf cart ride away.
Can't say enough about this rental and Lake Fontana!

Great Family Vacation

The kids had a blast swimming, boating, tubing, whitewater rafting and zip-lining! The house was very clean and nice - we really enjoyed it. The kids said they really enjoyed swimming off the dock which was a quick scenic walk on a gravel road through the woods. We saw butterflies, hummingbirds, toads and salamanders. We rented a pontoon boat from Prince's Boat dock around the corner which was very convenient and a good price at $185/day. We had a picnic on the boat at Fontana Dam and then went swimming and tubing near Hazel Creek. Thanks George, we hope to come back!

George was wonderful. Honest. The house is as pictured. Clean
and tidy. The lake was the best we have ever been on. Clean, cool, deep waters...like glass for wake boarding. Would have loved it to see it before they let the water level down. Zero boat traffic...just wonderful.The house accomadated our three couples well. Every meal
was eaten outdoors in a variety of the tables provided. Fantastic stars.. We went white water rafting, zip lining, and hiking!!

What a vacation!

George is great to work with, very accomodating. The view is fabulous, the lake is so clear and was so peaceful. We spent many days sitting on the deck enjoying the relaxation of being away from it all. The stars at night shine bright, we watched shooting stars, satellites going by, and even saw the space station. We enjoyed a fire a couple of nights, roasting marshmallows over the fire and the spa was relaxing after a day of wakeboarding. The lake is so quiet and calm during the day. Fishing was great, secluded for privacy. The whole experience was super! The house is large and spacious, beds are so comfortable and the layout works well for large groups. The dock was fun for swimming and plenty of room for all the family. The neighbors are very helpful. We would love to return for another family get together. Thanks!!!!

Great vacation

Our family had a blast last week at this wonderful location. What a great place for a peaceful getaway. The owner George was great to deal with and was very helpful and accommodating. What you see in the pictures is what you get and more. The house is clean and the beds are really comfortable too. It has all the comforts of home to include Dish network for those who need a dose of news and sports.

Great Get Away

A group of 10 guys from work spent along weekend in this rental and it was great. Nothing like some time to relax and enjoy peace.
The home was clean neat and very well kept. We enjoyed the lake fishing, swimming, and just relaxing. Thanks George for the great time we will be calling again next year.

A Wonderful House!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this amazing home -- it is everything described and shown in the pictures and so much more!! The views of the lake and the mountains from the wrap-around deck are beautiful!The hot tub was terrific after a day's rafting at NOC, and it was great to be able to cook freshly caught fish on the grill. The location is excellent -- close to Bryson City, Nantahala Outdoor Center, the Cherokee Indian Reservation and Casino, etc. The owner of the house is extremely nice and helpful. In short, this is an outstanding vacation house. We all loved it and cannot recommend it highly enough!!

fantastic location, comfortable house

we truly enjoyed our trip to the lake and alot was due to this house we rented. it is on the lake, with great views. it accomadated all 6 adults and 5 kids perfectly. It was a quick walk down to the dock where we swam & fished alot. we will be returning and certainly renting this house again. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
