| The 3 BR, 3 level Villa Matisse #1 is a very spacious beach-side villa located right behind the Waikiki Beach bar/restaurant on Orient Bay. The community is gated.
The view out any window of the villa looked out on no other units and the surrounding vegetation (palm trees, bushes, etc.) afforded terrific privacy. This is not a luxury villa, but the location is hard to beat for anyone wishing to spend time at Orient Bay.
There is an abundance of space so that guests don't feel cramped together. The first floor features a large living area, a spacious dining area, kitchen, laundry, toilet and an outdoor-covered patio area with another dining table.
The back exit features a locked gate providing access to the Waikiki parking lot and the boardwalk entrance thru Waikiki to the beach. The daily housekeeping service was terrific.
When looking for an affordable beach-side villa at Orient Bay, the space and location offered by Matisse #1 would be tough to beat.
As for the negatives: the top floor shower did not work, the TV in the master BR had a terribly snowy picture, the outdoor shower did not work. These were small issues. The welcome basket was a nice touch!
The two king beds were very comfortable, but the queen bed was very noisy and uncomfortable. It was good that this was not a couple's bedroom during our stay :) Internet access was provided and worked well. Also, an electrical power converter was provided in the LR with a us outlet strip attached.
And the rental company provided an escort from the rental car location to the villa!
