Breathtaking views

spacer The view from this villa is stunning. We were met at the car rental location by Alice. She was such a saint. We told her we wanted to run to a grocery on the way and she patiently waited for us for quite some time. When we got to the villa, it was clean and smelled lemony fresh. The view took from the porch took our breath away, simply gorgeous. The housekeeper came twice during our 6 night stay to freshen towels/clean/replenish paper products.... The kitchen was fully stocked with essential cooking items, pots/pans/dishes/microwave/toaster oven ..... We ate at the villa several evenings. The salt water makes the grill look a little weathered, but never fear, it works like a champ. The only thing missing was TV's in the bedroom. Since those are the only rooms with air it would be nice to relax in the cool air with a little TV before bed. Also, the pool guy was supposed to come, but we never saw him, so the pool got a tiny bit cloudy. Nothing major to complain here. The Westin is directly next door. They have a beach side bar. We went over there a couple days and the bartenders were awesome. The beach is not crowded at all. Basically it is just people from the Westin. The villa is the only one in Dawn Estates with direct beach access, which was an added bonus. Note: the only thing in walking distance is the Westin. You must plan on having a rental car. Don't pay attention to anyone who says different unless you plan on NEVER leaving the villa.

A great place for couples!

spacer What a great place for couples to stay. First, the house is as described in the listing. There are 3 master bedrooms, with king size beds, double sinks, and a large shower. Each walkout to a view of the ocean. Inside the house it has a good size kitchen, dining area, and lounge with a TV. Outside, the pool area, second dining and lounge areas were fantastic. Our group was 3 couples and we never felt in each others way or crowded, it was perfect for us. The house is the only one in the area with direct access to Dawn Beach. The sunrise is a sight to see. It really is great. And a walk on the beach early in the morning is very nice. Due to the house direction, you cannot see the sunset, but with the beach, pool, & ocean, you tend to forget about it. Getting around the island by car is easy, you will want a car. A quick drive to the french side is wonderful for the cuisine. Or you can drive to Philipsburg for shopping and night life. Regardless your vacation desire, the house is in a low key location, zero traffic, and overall great. Negatives: The AC broke in one of the rooms, in the morning. (It was fixed within 4 hours, before we got back to the house that day) The pool guy never came to clean the pool. (we found the net and dipped it ourselves) One night it rained, and some water came in from the huge sliding doors. (cleaned it up with a towel) These things caused zero issues with our stay, and the rental staff was extremely attentive. It is a house on the ocean, in a tropical climate, these are hardly negative items in my opinion, but they did happen. Overall, I would absolutely stay there again. The service, and how the rental staff, cleaning lady, and property manager treated us was fantastic. The house, location, and views were all great.
